Cats also suffer from neural degeneration. It is called dementia. Older cats are likely to suffer from dementia, and they become more distressed. For cats, CBD helps to improve neuroplasticity and regenerates brain cells.

How to Use CBD for Pets?

Since the FDA does not regulate CBD products, it is vital to conduct your research on pet products. Look for the amount of CBD, THC, and heavy metals in the CBD products. Ensure that these products contain the exact amount of CBD as they claim.

When you find a reliable CBD product for your pet, start with a low dose. After that, you will have to experiment with doses. You can do this by gradually increasing the quantity of CBD to check what works best for your pet.

Generally, a dose of one milligram per ten pounds of your pet’s weight is recommended for osteoarthritis. However, cats require a slightly higher amount considering that they have a faster metabolism than dogs.

If your pet suffers from chronic anxiety or seizures, try giving your pet a dose of CBD twice daily. Then, take your pet to the vet and consult a veterinarian for prolonged use of CBD.

How Long Does It Take for CBD to Work?

It takes about 30 minutes for CBD to start working, but this also depends on the product that you use. For example, CBD oil tends to work faster as compared to CBD biscuits or treats. This is because CBD oil gets absorbed directly, and your pet doesn’t have to break down other ingredients.
