Adding Milk to Tea

Studies found that the addition of milk doesn’t change the antihypertensive property of tea. They applied milk tea to the cells in the lab, but it didn’t activate KCNQ5.

Scientists claimed that the effect might not be similar in the human body. A person will get the benefit of tea even if they consume it with milk.

They also found that when you warm green tea up to 35 degrees, KCNQ5 activates more quickly. But if someone likes iced tea, he or she can gain the same benefits. As Dr. Abbot says, the tea will raise its temperature once it is consumed. Whether taken hot or cold, you will get the benefit.

Effects on Brain

KCNQ5 is also present in the brain, where it helps to control electrical activity and transmit signals. 

People having epileptic encephalopathy have a protein channel that restricts their brain from responding correctly to voltage frequency. 

Experts claim that the catechins can cross blood-brain barriers to protect the brain from exposure to drugs and large molecules.

Hence, these findings can help scientists stimulate KCNQ5 in the brain, which improves cells’ ability.
