What is CBD?

CBD is one of the cannabinoids in the hemp plant. Hemp has over eighty compounds, and CBD is one of them.

How does CBD work?

CBD mainly shows an effect on the body by interacting with the endocannabinoid receptors. These receptors are present inside and outside the brain and other parts of the body, especially the immune system.

Endocannabinoids produced by the body normally attach to these receptors to stimulate changes that would keep the body in hemostasis – a well-balanced internal environment.

CBD works like endocannabinoids, having the same effect on the receptors. In this way, it can maintain different functions, such as pain pathways, digestion, emotions, memory, respiration, mood, and appetite.

What are the side effects of CBD?

CBD is well-tolerated by the body, but there are still some side effects. These include changes in appetite and weight. Also, CBD can cause fatigue and diarrhea. Some people may also have an allergic reaction to CBD, which has similar symptoms to a pollen allergy.

Moreover, CBD has drug interactions. Thus, it may disturb or hinder the functioning of some medicinal drugs.
